Choosing Change

Last week I decided that I WaNtEd tO MeET nEw PeoPLe.  It's kind of hard to meet new people by asking the people you already know if there is anything going. So I turned to the easiest way of finding social events: facebook. I noticed that a couple of my friends had been invited to a BBQ/Bonfire up Brighton Canyon. None of them had said they were attending, so I decided I was going to go. That simple. Yes, I did invite one of my best friends to come with me, I mean you always need a wing man (actually I am a very good wing man), and there we went, with directions from google we were able to find it no problem at all.

At first, people looked at us like, who are you? and why are you here? But my friend and I decided to act like we knew everyone and just have a fantastic time. And that we did. I cannot express how refreshing it was to go to a new place with a whole bunch of new people! Not to mention the wonderful Canyon walls which surrounded us, the sound of the stream, and the smell of smoke that I had missed for so long.  Did I say it was a full moon too? Yeah, pretty amazing.

I guess the moral of the story is, sometimes you have to chose to have amazing experiences. Don't pass them up because you are afraid or think that there isn't way. Sometimes unconventional things are what work best!
